Mabel Cantrell
Mabel Cantrell, age 98, of Aurora died Tuesday afternoon, March 5, 2002, at Memorial Hospital. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Friday at the Higby-McQuiston Chapel in Aurora. Rev. Mary McQueen will officiate. Interment will be in the Aurora Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 P.M. Thursday at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary. Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church. OBITUARY: MABEL CANTRELL Mabel Mae Cantrell, the daughter of Frank and Birdie Belle (Metcalf) Marlow, was born in Omaha, Nebraska on May 8, 1903 and died in Aurora, Nebraska on March 5, 2002, at the age of 98 years. She grew up in Omaha, at the age of eight her family moved to Phillips. Mabel attended school in Phillips through the fourth grade, when the family moved to Homestead, Wyoming. Mabel was united in marriage to Earl Heflin in November of 1925. In 1946, Mabel was united in marriage to Harry Bisalisbury. Harry passed away in 1948. On March 11, 1950, Mabel married Albert Leon Cantrell in Denver, Colorado. Albert passed away on February 19, 1967. At that time Mabel moved to Aurora to help take care of her step-mother. She has resided in Aurora since that time. Mabel was a member of the First Christian Church in Aurora. She was baptized into the church at the age of 16. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands and a half-sister, Opal List. Mabel is survived by her nephew Charles VanDeursen and his wife Jodie of Helena, Alabama and their children, Douglas VanDeursen and Janine M. Gil and many other relatives and friends. |
