Elizabeth Conn
Elizabeth "Betty" Conn, age 56, of Aurora died Friday morning, April 12, 2002, at Clarkson Hospital in Omaha. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday at Assembly of God Church in Aurora. Rev. Jim Garfield and Rev. Gil Larsen will officiate. Interment will be in the Aurora Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 P.M. Monday at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary in Aurora. OBITUARY: ELIZABETH CONN Elizabeth Mae Conn, the daughter of Ralph and Dorothy (Stone) Ritta, was born in Libertyville, Illinois on August 26, 1945 and died in Omaha, Nebraska on April 12, 2002, at the age of 56 years. She grew up in Grayslake, Illinois and attended school there through the 10th grade. The family then moved to Nebraska and settled in Central City. Betty graduated from Central City High School in 1963. She worked in Central City at the hospital before attending Grace Bible Institute. Betty went on to receive her LPN training at the Kearney Nursing School. Betty was united in marriage to Larry Joe Conn on May 16, 1981 at Aurora. Betty worked at Memorial Hospital and Memorial Community Care in Aurora. She retired from the hospital after 25 years of service due to health problems. Larry passed away on July 6, 2001. Betty was a caregiver from a very early age. She always knew that nursing is what she wanted to do. Betty took great pride in giving her patients the best care possible. She especially loved spending time with her patients in Long Term. The shih tzus Larry and she raised over the years were very dear to her. Betty also loved to collect dolls and was proud of her collection. She was preceded in death by her husband; grandparents, Frank and Florence Stone and Lewis Earl and Emma Ritta; a niece, Brooke Conn and an uncle Ted Stone. Betty is survived by her parents, Ralph and Dorothy Ritta of Central City; five brothers, James Ritta, Robert Ritta and his wife Susan, and Thomas Ritta all of Central City, Edward Ritta and his wife Marilynn of Marquette and Michael Ritta and his wife Kathy of Chapman; sister, Eddra Ritta of Bennet; two brother-in-laws, Mike Conn of Salina, Kansas and Jerry Conn of Jewel, Kansas; sister-in-law Pat Rasch of Jewel, Kansas; 19 nieces and nephews and uncle & aunt, David and Marion Ritta of Marquette. |
