Henry Fisher
Henry "Hank" Fisher, age 68, of Aurora, died Friday afternoon, April 5, 2002, at Memorial Hospital. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Wednesday at the United Methodist Church in Aurora. Dr. Joe Scahill will officiate. Burial will be at the Amherst Cemetery at 2:00 P.M. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 P.M. Tuesday at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary. OBITUARY: HENRY FISHER Henry Dean Fisher, the son of Virgil and Ann (Barth) Fisher, was born in Amherst, Nebraska on December 10, 1933 and died in Aurora, Nebraska on April 5, 2002, at the age of 68 years. He grew up at Amherst and attended rural school for his first 8 years. Hank graduated from Amherst High School in 1951. He completed his Bachelor's degree in 1959 and his Masters in 1967 at Kearney State College. He served in the National Guard until 1960. Hank was united in marriage to Donna Boggs on June 3, 1956 at Hershey, Nebraska. After graduating from Kearney State, he began his teaching career at Elwood, Nebraska. In the fall of 1962, they moved to Aurora where he taught business in the Aurora High School for 30 years. Hank was a member of the United Methodist Church and Vice-Chairman of trustees at United Methodist. He was secretary of the Aurora Bowling Association, Assistant Treasurer of the Plainsman Museum, a member of the Hamilton Community Foundation Scholarship Committee and member of the Nebraska Business Educators Association. He enjoyed meeting his coffee buddies at 9:00 each morning at Hamilton Motor Inn. He was preceded in death by his father, Virgil. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Donna of Aurora; son, Kyle Fisher and his wife Phyllis of Omaha; one grandson, Travis Fisher of Omaha; mother, Ann Fisher of Amherst; two brothers, Harvey Fisher of Kearney and Jerry Fisher of Amherst and one sister, Charlotte Reicks of Grand Junction, Colorado. |
