Marie Klawonn

Marie Klawonn, age 88, of Aurora died Sunday, January 20, 2002, at the Hamilton Manor in Aurora.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday at Zion Lutheran Church northeast of Hampton. Rev. Loren Cooper will officiate. Interment will be in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 P.M. Tuesday at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary in Aurora. Memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Church or Hospice. OBITUARY: MARIE KLAWONN

Jennie 'Marie' Klawonn, the daughter of Emil and Alma (Sundberg) Gustafson, was born on a farm northwest of Aurora, Nebraska on March 22, 1913 and died in Aurora, Nebraska on January 20, 2002, at the age of 88 years.

Marie grew up on the family farm near Aurora. She graduated from Marquette High School.

Marie was united in marriage to Arthur P. Klawonn on April 18, 1937. They lived in Bayard, Hampton, Marquette and Aurora during their married life. Marie taught school for three years in the Marquette area. She cooked at the Marquette Café for two years and then cooked at the Marquette School for 16 years.

Marie was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church of Hampton and had been a member of the L.W.M.L.

She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Bernard Klawonn, grandson, Timothy Klawonn, her twin sister, Mildred Goertzen; sister, Helen Johnson; brother, Walter Gustafson; half-brother, Reuben Gustafson and step-brother, Bill Bister.

Marie is survived by her husband Arthur of Aurora; daughter, Alma Rohde and her husband Dale, daughter-in-law, Lova Klawonn; 6 grandchildren, Barb Bliss and her husband Ron, Kent Klawonn and his wife Sara, Brenda Klawonn, Kevin Klawonn and his wife Sara, Darwin Rohde and his wife Jennifer and Darrin Rohde and his wife Shari; 8 great-grandchildren, Miles, Jonathon & Zachariah Bliss, Brant, Amanda & Moyra Klawonn and Abigail & Kaitlynn Rohde; a half-sister, Alma Wall and sisters-in-law, Doris Plummer and her husband Dale and Jean Bister.
