Irma Berggren Madison

Irma Berggren Madison, age 80, formerly of Aurora died Friday, April 19, 2002.

Funeral Services will be held at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Aurora on Monday, April 29th at 10:00 A.M. Pastor Karl Larson will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the Church. Interment will be in the Richland Cemetery near Marquette. OBITUARY: IRMA BERGGREN MADISON

Irma, the daughter of Jens Peter Ebert and Inez Edna Emal, was born in Minden, Nebraska on July 20, 1921 and died at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota on April 19, 2002, at the age of 80 years.

She grew up in Central Nebraska and graduated from Marquette High School in 1939. She was united in marriage to Donald E. Berggren on December 23, 1942. Don was killed in action on Luzon May 24, 1945.

Irma was united in marriage to Edward Joseph Madison on October 1, 1946, at LaVerne, Minnesota. They lived at Donnelly, Minnesota where Ed owned and operated a service station and garage. They retired to Aurora, Nebraska in July of 1991. Ed passed away on February 5, 1996. Since that time, Irma had the opportunity to spend two years in Bismarck, North Dakota and four years in Albert Lea, Minnesota at Bancroft Creek Estates. She will be remembered for her poetry and writings.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, brother, Dale Ebert and sisters, Mildred Noble, Edna Palmberg, Donnice Kissel, Linnea Green, Marian Blaylock, and Norma Rae McKeehan.

Irma is survived by her three children, sons, Bill Madison of Bismark, North Dakota, Dale Berggren and his wife Lois of Wilmington, North Carolina and a daughter, Ina Jo Meyer and her husband Darryl of Albert Lea, Minnesota; 11 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister, Zelda Bush and her husband Bill of Lincoln, brother-in-law John Green of Aurora, an uncle, Orville Emal and many nieces and nephews.
