Evelyn Palmberg

Evelyn Palmberg, age 93, of Aurora died Monday, May 13, 2002 at Memorial Long Term Care.

Funeral Services will be held at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Aurora on Thursday, May 16th at 2:00 P.M. Pastor Karl Larson will officiate. Interment will be in the Aurora Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 P.M. Wednesday at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary. There will be no viewing at the Church. OBITUARY: EVELYN PALMBERG

Evelyn Josephine Palmberg, the daughter of Richard E. and Josephine (Sundberg) Nyblom, was born at Marquette, Nebraska on November 26, 1908 and died at Aurora, Nebraska on May 13, 2002, at the age of 93 years.

She grew up in the Monroe community. Evelyn graduated from Aurora High School and then taught in the Hamilton County Schools for seven years.

Evelyn was united in marriage to Elmer A. Palmberg on May 31, 1934. They lived on a farm in Hamilton County and moved to Aurora in 1942, where they were involved in Palmberg Auto Supply. Elmer passed away on September 15, 1976.

Evelyn was a member of the Aurora Evangelical Covenant Church, where she was active in Covenant Women and served in various Christian Education roles. She also served in volunteer roles with other community organizations, Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and the Hamilton Manor Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a sister, Violet Anderson; a brother, Kenneth Nyblom; and a great-granddaughter.

Evelyn is survived by her three daughters, Barbara Person and her husband Bob of Aurora, Phyllis Friesen and her husband Roy of Greeley, Colorado and Lorey Wadell and her husband Delmer of Aurora; 6 grandchildren, Douglas Person and his wife Barbara, Debra Andersen and her husband Chris, Paul Friesen and his wife Kim, Ingrid Lundvall and her husband Steve, Brent Wadell and Lisa Wadell and 8 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister-in-law, Lucille Nyblom and a brother-in-law, Elton Elge.
