Warren Wagner

Warren Wagner, age 81, of Giltner died Monday night, July 1, 2002, at Memorial Long Term Care in Aurora.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Saturday, July 6th at the Giltner United Methodist Church. Rev. Nora Leeds will officiate. Interment will be in the Giltner Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 P.M. on Friday at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary in Aurora. Condolences may be e-mailed to the family through the mortuary website at higbymortuary.com.

OBITUARY: WARREN WAGNER

Warren Soward Wagner, the son of Carl and Hazel (Soward) Wagner, was born in Giltner, Nebraska on April 13, 1921 and died in Aurora, Nebraska on July 1, 2002, at the age of 81.

Warren grew up in Giltner and graduated from Giltner High School in 1939. He went to work in Wichita, Kansas at Boeing Aircraft.

Warren was united in marriage to Beulah Jean Frank of Harvard on June 13, 1942, at Wichita, Kansas. He worked for Beech Craft Airplane factory before moving back to Giltner in 1945 to farm. Warren and Beulah farmed until 1972 when they bought Giltner Hardware, where they worked until they retired in 1987. Warren and Beulah celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on June 13, 2002.

Warren was a member of the United Methodist Church in Giltner. He was a 4-H Leader for many years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Richard Wagner, daughter-in-law, Joy Wagner and his sister, Glena Rudy.

Those who remain to cherish his memory are his wife Beulah of Giltner; two children, Walter Wagner and his wife Barbara of Snohomish, Washington and Carmen Samples and her husband Ken of Batavia, Illinois; 7 grandchildren, Erin Tidwell and her husband Michael, Matthew and Trevor Wagner all of Snohomish, Washington, Mitchell Samples and his wife Jacquie of Iowa City, Iowa, Angela Marcino and her husband Jeff of Centreville, Virginia, Heather and Samantha Wagner of Schuyler; two great-grandchildren, Hazel Samples and Emily Marciano and sister, Bonnie Rudy of Giltner.
