Funeral Services were held 2:00 P.M., Friday, April 22, 1988 at the United Lutheran Church in Hampton. Interment was held in the Hampton Cemetery.
OBITUARY: Gertrude Anderson
Gertrude Ann Anderson, the daughter of Frank and Lena (Mattes) Fenster, was born at Hampton, Nebraska, on October 4, 1903, and passed away at Aurora, Nebraska, on April 18, 1988, at the age of 84 years, 6 months and 4 days.
She grew up at Hampton, and attended parochial school in Hampton.
On February 4, 1926, she was united in marriage to Harlan Anderson at Hampton. They farmed near Hampton after their marriage, and in 1963, they retired and moved into Hampton. Her husband, Harlan, preceded her in death on January 26, 1978.
From 1965 to 1979, Gertrude worked as a cook at the Hampton School. She was also a member of the Hampton United Lutheran Church, and she belonged to the “Neighborhood Club.”
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a ½ brother, Theodore Fenster; a ½ sister Alvina Werth; and a sister Rose Werth.
Those who remain to cherish her memory are her son Stanley and his wife Velda of Hampton; a sister Edna Steenbock of Hampton; 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, and other relatives and friends.
