Edna Andres, age 88, of Aurora died Friday afternoon, April 14, 2000 at Memorial Long Term Care.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Monday at the Aurora United Methodist Church. Dr. Joe Scahill will officiate. Interment will be in the Alma Cemetery at 2:30 P.M. Monday in Alma. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M., Sunday evening at Higby Mortuary in Aurora.
OBITUARY: EDNA ANDRES
Edna Baker Andres, the daughter of Guy Delbert and Carrie Evelyn (Ziegler) Baker, was born in Alma, Nebraska on August 13, 1911, and died in Aurora, Nebraska, on April 14, 2000, at the age of 88 years, 8 months and 1 day.
She grew up in Alma and graduated from Alma High School in 1928.
Edna was united in marriage to Ross Clifford Andres on April 28, 1928 at Phillipsburg, Kansas. She ran a restaurant, where she baked the best cinnamon rolls. Ross passed away on February 13, 1984. Edna moved to Aurora in September 1984.
She was a member of the Aurora United Methodist Church. She had taught bible school. Edna was an avid quilt maker, enjoyed collecting dolls and making doll clothes for many people. She loved baseball, especially the Cubs.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Raymond Lee died in 1994, an infant son Donald, one sister, one brother and a grandson.
Those left to cherish her memory are her 3 children, Karry Smith and her husband Kenneth of Giltner, Patty Payne and her husband Merle of Loveland, Colorado and Lanny Andres and his wife Michelle of Merced, California; sister, Berniece Priest of Kansas City, Missouri; brother, Richard Stanley Baker and his wife Elizabeth of Sun City, Arizona; daughter-in-law, Rosemary Andres of Estes Park, Colorado; 15 grandchildren, Daniel & Mary Andres, Kevin Andres, Robin Andres, Kenneth & Ella Payne, David Payne, Peggy & Brad Perry, Pamela & Don Laisure, Patsy & Tom Jones, John & Lori Payne, Lyle Andres, Lori & Robert Santistevan, Kirt Smith, Kristine & Rodney Page and Stacy & Craig Leal; 29 great-grandchildren; 3 great great-grandchildren.
