Funeral Services were held 10:30 A.M., Monday, February 6, 1989 at Higby Mortuary. Interment was held in the Evergreen Cemetery in Superior, Nebraska.

OBITUARY: Rose Barker

Rose Elizabeth Barker, the daughter of John and Sarah (Halliday) Shaw, was born at Mt. Clarre, Nebraska, on March 20, 1904, and passed away at Aurora, Nebraska, on February 1, 1989, at the age of 84 years, 10 months, and 11 days.

She graduated from Lawrence High School and taught school at Mr. Clare for 2 years.

On May 4, 1922, she was united in marriage to Stacey Barker, at Burr Oak, Kansas. He preceded her in death on March 25, 1986. They lived in Superior until 1943 when they moved to Aurora. In 1986 she entered the Hamilton Manor Care Home in Aurora.

Rose was a member of the Aurora United Methodist Church, and belonged to the Better Homes Extension Club, and the Hastings Rock Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a daughter Barbara Taylor, and 3 brothers and 3 sisters.

She is survived by a son-in-law, Leither Taylor, and 2 grandsons Micahel and Patrick Taylor.
