Twila Beacom

Twila Beacom, age 91, of Aurora died Saturday night, November 11, 2000 at Hamilton Manor.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Tuesday at the United Methodist Church in Aurora. Dr. Joe Scahill will officiate. Interment will be in the Aurora Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. Monday at Higby Mortuary.

OBITUARY: TWILA BEACOM

Twila B. Beacom, the daughter of Walter and Grace (Mintun) Sailor was born in Giltner, Nebraska on August 28, 1909 and died in Aurora, Nebraska, on November 11, 2000, at the age of 91 years, 2 months and 13 days.

She grew up in Stockham. Twila graduated from Stockham High School Class of 1928.

Twila was united in marriage to John “Ray” Raymond Beacom on January 8, 1929 at Stromsburg, Nebraska. They farmed south of Aurora for several years. In 1944, they moved into Aurora where Twila was a dental assistant for Dr. John Allen. She later worked as a sales clerk at Main Street and Mo-Net’s for many years. Ray passed away in May 1972.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Aurora.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter Patricia Hanson and her husband, Don of Aurora; two grandsons, Mike Hanson and his wife Telo and Todd Hanson and his wife Marlene both of Aurora; 6 great-grandchildren, Tiffany, Jonathon, Micah, Luke, Kennan and Kristah; sister, Vivian Briggs of Hastings.
