Funeral Services were held 2:00 P.M., Friday, November 9, 1984 at Higby Mortuary. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery.

OBITUARY: Frank Benke

Frank Benke, the son of John and Agnes (Friesen) Benke, was born at Henderson, Nebraska, on October 21, 1904, and passed away at Aurora, Nebraska, on November 6, 1984, at the age of 80 years and 16 days.

His childhood was spent near Henderson and he graduated from Henderson High School.

On March 22, 1930, he was united in marriage to Mildred Davenport, at Belleville, Kansas. She preceded him in death on January 28, 1972.

After their marriage they lived in several places before moving to Aurora. He was employed by the Cornhusker Ordinance Plant in Grand Island, the city of Aurora, and was custodian at the Courthouse for over 10 years.

He resided at Crossroads Courts for several years and for the last few years had been in the long term care unit of Memorial Hospital in Aurora.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one daughter, Jean Becker, 2 grandsons, LaVerne Dale Bieck and Kenneth Bieck. Four brothers, John, Pete, Andrew and one in infancy; four sisters, Mrs. Katie Claussen, Mrs. Lena Friesen, Mrs. Anna Cornelsen and one in infancy.

Those who remain to cherish his memory are two daughters, Marjorie Bieck of Trumbull and Carol Cudaback of Alda; 9 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and many other relatives and close friends.
