Funeral Services were held 10:30 A.M., Saturday, May 21, 1983 at Higby Mortuary. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery.

OBITUARY: Mrs. Katherine Benke

Katherine Benke, the daughter of David and Maggie Workentine Buller, was born at Henderson, Nebraska, on July 26, 1897. Her death occurred at Aurora, Nebraska on May 18, 1983, at the age of 85 years, 9 months and 22 days.

She spent her childhood in the Henderson Community and received her education I the schools there.

On December 13, 1914, she was united in marriage to John Benke at Henderson. They resided in the Henderson community until 1938 when they moved to Aurora. Later they moved to Lincoln, Nebraska where her husband was employed by the Burlington Railroad. Four years later, on his retirement, they returned to Aurora, where she has since resided. Her husband preceded her in death on July 5, 1978.

Mrs. Benke was a member of the United Methodist Church, where she was regular in her attendance, until her health failed.

Her parents, one daughter, Leta May Hayes and one granddaughter had preceded her in death.

Her survivors include one daughter Mrs. Goldie Turner of Livermore, California; one sister Mrs. Rose Wipf of Omaha, Nebraska; 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren; other relatives and many friends, who remain to cherish her memory.
