Margaret (Peggy) Benson

Margaret (Peggy) Benson, age 85, of Aurora, died Thursday, March 10, 2005, at Hamilton Manor in Aurora.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, March 12th at Pleasant View Bible Church in Aurora. Rev. Bob Pier will officiate. Interment will be at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, March 14th at Fort McPherson National Cemetery near Maxwell. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 P.M. on Friday at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary in Aurora. OBITUARY: MARGARET (PEGGY) BENSON

Margaret Jean (Peggy) Benson, the daughter of Roy and Daisy (McKay) Pence, was born in Aurora, Nebraska on June 27, 1919 and entered into the presence of the Lord in Aurora, Nebraska on March 10, 2005, at the age of 85.

Peggy grew up in Aurora, graduated from Aurora High School and attended the University of Nebraska.

Peggy was married to Robert C. Benson in 1955 in Aurora. During their marriage they lived in Lakewood, Colorado and North Platte, Nebraska. Robert passed away in 1991. Peggy has lived at East Park Villa the past year and a half.

Peggy loved music. She was an avid pianist and organist. Peggy played the pipe organ at the Methodist Church for many years. Peggy led many small Bible studies over the years. She and her husband Robert were involved in the Gideon's and Maranatha Bible Camp.

She was preceded in Glory by her husband and her daughter, Amy (Mrs. Gifford) Cogdill in 2003.

Those who remain to cherish her memory are her brother R. M. (Bud) Pence and his wife Mary Ann of Aurora; her twin daughters, Judy Eby and Joyce (Mrs. Pete) Andersen; her step-daughter, Bette Drummond; step-son, Bob Benson, Jr. and his wife ReeAnn; two sons-in-law and a daughter-in-law; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
