Alvin BerckGraveside Services were held 2:00 P.M., Thursday, January 11, 1996 at Richland Cemetery in Marquette, Nebraska. OBITUARY: Alvin Berck Alvin Ross Berck, the son of Linley and Opal (Scott) Berck, was born at Torrington, Wyoming, on November 20, 1946, and died at Lincoln, Nebraska, on January 7, 1996, at the age of 49 years, 1 month, and 17 days. At the age of 2 months, the family moved to Medford, Oregon, living there until he was 12 years old, and then they moved to Three Hills Alberta, Canada, where he lived until he was 16 years old, when the family moved to Marquette, Nebraska and he graduated from high school. After his graduating, he returned to Three Hills, Alberta, Canada, to attend one year of college at Prarie Bible Institute. On October 18, 1966, he joined the Air Force, and was stationed in Texas, Alaska, Spokane, Washington, and Oklahoma City. On August 2, 1974, he was discharged. On August 3, 1973, he was united in marriage to Rebecca Mayfield, at Midwest City, Oklahoma. Alvin worked in the Oklahoma oil fields, until 1981, when they moved to Hordville, Nebraska, and he was employed by Hilder Implement in Central City. He also worked for Handay Rent All in Grand Island, and for Moon’s Honda Pontiac in Grand Island. In 1987, his family moved to Marquette, and he was employed at Bonnavilla Homes in Aurora, until he medically retired in 1991. Alvin was a member of the Mamre Evangelical Free Church at Marquette. Those who remain to cherish his memory are his wife “Becky” of Marquette; 4 sons, Christopher of Abiline, Texas, Daniel and Joseph both at home, and Bruce of Hastings; one daughter Sonya Utter of Marquette; 2 sisters, Joyce Juzyk of Aurora, and Donna Berck of Marquette; his parents, Linley and Opal Berck of Marquette; 3 grandsons, and 2 grand daughters. |
