Margaret Berck

Margaret Berck, age 88, of Marquette died Thursday, October 28, 2004, at Memorial Community Care in Aurora.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, November 1st at Community Bible Church, 403 F Avenue, in Central City. Pastor Gilbert Larsen will officiate. Interment will be in the Aurora Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 P.M. Sunday at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary in Aurora. OBITUARY: MARGARET BERCK

Margaret Marcella Berck, was born December 12, 1915 to Ellen (Lindbloom) and Delbert Danhauer on a farm near Marquette. She attended country school near her home and graduated from Marquette High School. Upon graduation she taught at Pokey Hoodle Country School.

Margaret was united in marriage to Woodrow Berck on December 10, 1936, by Rev. Charles Wantz, at the Methodist parsonage in Marquette. They farmed until 1966 when they retired. She started work at the Marquette Grocery Store in 1972 and worked there for several years.

Margaret accepted the Lord as her personal Savior at the age of 30 and went on to teach Sunday school for many years. She and her husband, Woodrow, continued in their faith to raise seven children in a Christian home. She faithfully served the Lord through out her life. She was a member of Community Bible Church in Central City.

Margaret is survived by her husband, Woodrow and 5 children, Delores (David) Downs, Janet (Thomas) Schlender all of Raymond, Gary (Lorrie) Berck, Lanny Berck, and Katherine (Doyle) Christenson all of Marquette; 17 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren and one great great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her two sons and a daughter-in-law, Ronald and Joye Berck and Duane Berck; a great grandson Justin Davis; four brothers, Delbert, Gilbert, Bernard and Ellsworth Danhauer and three sisters, Mrs. Harold (Ida) Larsen, Mrs. Gilbert (Kate) Larsen and Mrs. Clifford (Hazel) Ashelford.
