Opal BerckFuneral Services were held 2:00 P.M., Monday, November 10, 1997 at Mamre Evangelical Free Church in Marquette, Nebraska. Interment was held in the Richland Cemetery in Marquette, Nebraska. OBITUARY: Opal Berck Opal Dee Berck, the daughter of Rolla and Josephine (Lindall) Scott, was born in Blaine County, Oklahoma, on October 28, 1919, and died at Aurora, Nebraska, on November 6, 1997, at the age of 78 years, and 8 days. At an early age the family moved to Hordville, where she graduated from Hordville High School in 1938. On August 1, 1938, she was united in marriage to Linley Berck at Kingfisher, Oklohama. They lived in Torrington, Wyoming, and in 1947 they moved to Southern Oregon. From 1958 to 1962 they lived in Alberta, Canada, and for the past several years have lived in Marquette. Opal was a member of the Mamre Evangelical Free Church, and was co-founder of Bible Club Missions, Inc. of Marquette. She was preceded in death by her parents, one son Alvin; and two brothers, Forest and William “Buck” Scott. Those who remain to cherish her memory are her husband Linley of Marquette; two daughters Joyce Juzyk and her husband Mike of Aurora; and Donna Berck of Marquette; one daughter-in-law, Becky Berck of Stevensville, Texas; four brothers, Charlie Scott of Central City, Hollis Scott of Emmett, Idaho, Daniel Scott of Upper Lake, California, and Oscar Scott of Apache Junction, Arizona; three sisters, Olive Swaggart of Geary, Oklahoma, Gertrude Russell of Central City, and Ida Schutz of Laramie, Wyoming; 10 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren. |
