Donald Beyer
Donald Beyer, age 92, of Aurora, died Saturday, February 16, 2008, at Memorial Community Care. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, February 20th at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Kronborg. Revs. Chris and Sheryl Kester Beyer will officiate. Interment will be in the St. John’s Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 P.M. Tuesday at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary in Aurora. Family will receive friends from 5 to 7 P.M. Condolences may be e-mailed to the family through the mortuary website at www.higbymortuary.com. OBITUARY: DONALD BEYER Donald Olsen Beyer, the son of L. Chris and Maren (Olsen) Beyer, was born north of Hampton, Nebraska on February 17, 1915 and died in Aurora, Nebraska on February 16, 2008, at the age of 92. He grew up on the farm north of Hampton and attended rural country schools. Don graduated from Marquette High School. Donald was united in marriage to Ingeborg Holst on October 4, 1936 at Kronborg. Following their marriage Don worked at a sugar beet factory in Colorado during the winter months and farmed in Marquette and later in Hampton. Don was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church where he served on the church council. He enjoyed golfing, bowling and loved his farm animals. Don and Ingeborg spent their winters in Arizona for 29 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Sharon Bintner, brother, Chester Beyer, sister, Evelyn Stritz and grandson, Paul Bintner. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Ingeborg of Aurora; daughter, Carol Ann (Harald) Sorensen of Albuquerque, New Mexico; brother, Earl Beyer of Burbank, California; granddaughter Hope (Todd) Spuzello of Des Moines, Iowa, grandsons Jeff (Deanna) Sorensen of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Mike Sorensen of Phoenix, Arizona; and five great-grandchildren. |
