Chester BeyerFuneral Services were held 2:00 P.M., Thursday, January 27, 1994 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Kronborg, Nebraska. Interment was held in the St. John’s Lutheran Church Cemetery. OBITUARY: Chester Beyer Chester L. Beyer, the son of L.C. “Chris” and Maren (Olsen) Beyer, was born near Marquette, Nebraska, on September 23, 1917, and died at Grand Island, Nebraska, on January 24, 1994, at the age of 76 years, 4 months, and 1 day. He grew up in the Kronborg area, and graduated from Marquette High School. He served his country during World War II, in the U.S. Army, form March 20, 1942, until his discharge on January 9, 1946, and then began farming in the Marquette area. On February 11, 1944, he was united in marriage to Dorothy DeMaranville at Aurora. They would have celebrated their Golden Wedding this February 11th. After his marriage they continued to live on the farm until he retired because of health reasons in 1974, when they moved to Grand Island. Chet was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church at Kronborg, had served on the church board, and was a youth leader in Luther League. In earlier years he was involved in 4-H, and civil defense. He was also a member of the Grand Island Eagles Club, the Aurora American Legion, and belonged to the Hamilton County Saddle Club. He was preceded in death by his parents. Those who remain to cherish his memory are his wife Dorothy of Grand Island; his 4 sons, Lynn of Grand Island, Clark of Aurora, Philip of Genoa, and Chris of Kennard; 2 brothers, Don of Aurora, and Earl of Burbank, California; one sister Evelyn Stritz of Chicago, Illinois; 10 grandchildren, and 5 step grandchildren. |
