Dorothy Beyer

Dorothy Beyer, age 84, of Aurora, died Saturday, August 18, 2007, at Memorial Hospital.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, August 21st at St. John Lutheran Church in Kronborg. Rev. Pam Ciulla will officiate. Interment will be in the St. John Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 P.M. Monday at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary in Aurora. Family will receive friends from 5 – 7. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John’s Church or the Hamilton Manor for a courtyard project. OBITUARY: DOROTHY BEYER

Dorothy Jean Beyer, the daughter of Charles LeRoy and Isabelle (Hull) DeMaranville, was born in Aurora, Nebraska on February 13, 1923 and died in Aurora, Nebraska on August 18, 2007, at the age of 84.

She grew up in Aurora and graduated from Aurora High School. Dorothy worked at J.C. Penny’s in Aurora for several years. She was a dedicated homemaker that raised four boys and helped raise several other extended family members, including the Olsen’s and Stritz.

Dorothy was united in marriage to Chester Beyer on February 11, 1944 at Aurora. They lived on the farm in the Marquette area until 1974. When Chester had to retire for health reasons, they moved to Grand Island. They spent their winters in Mesa, Arizona before Chester passed away on January 24, 1994.

Dorothy was raised in the Evangelical United Brethren Church, where she was baptized and confirmed. After she was married she became a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church of Kronborg. She had served as president of the Ladies Aid. Dorothy was also an active member of the St. John’s Senior Fellowship, and she enjoyed membership in the Red Hat Society.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; three brothers, Eugene, Edgar and James DeMaranville; special friend, Delmar Anderson; sister-in-law, Evelyn Stritz and brother-in-law, Bud Stritz.

Those left to cherish her memory are her four sons and three daughter-in-laws, Lynn (Sharon) Beyer of Aurora, Clark Beyer of Grand Island, Philip (Connie) Beyer of Genoa and Chris (Sheryl) Kester Beyer of Aurora; 10 grandchildren, Lorinda Beyer, Cheston Beyer, Jeremy Beyer, Chance Beyer, Chase Beyer, Chris ‘Chip’ Beyer, Paul (Julie) Beyer, Corie Miller, Dorlissa Beyer and Jennifer (Cory) Swanson; 12 great-grandchildren, Justin and John Mireau, Joshua and Jessica Zigenbein, Jay and Saxon Short, Jaeden, Makenna and Lawrence Beyer, Angelica, Curtis and Kadren Miller; 5 step-grandchildren, Barbara Wheeler, William Nealon, Cheryl (Rex) Wilson, Gordon (Theresa) Nealon and Hope (Dean) Trahan; 12 step great-grandchildren, Susan (Clum) Delatour, Tammy (Colby) Delatour, Julie, Patti, Nicki and Amy Wheeler, Brent and Patrick Dibbern, Chelsea and Taylor Nealon, Ashley and Kaitlyn Trahan and four step great-great grandchildren; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Donald (Ingabor) Beyer, Earl (Evelyn) Beyer and Arlene DeMaranville; and several nieces and nephews.
