Cora Bittinger

Funeral Services were held 1:30 P.M., Tuesday, August 15, 1989 at Higby Mortuary. Interment was held in the Hampton Cemetery.

OBITUARY: Cora Mae Bittinger

Cora Mae Bittinger, the daughter of Lorenzo and Minnie (Gnauden) Misner, was born at Hampton, Nebraska, on May 10, 1904, and passed away at Aurora, Nebraska, on August 12, 1989, at the age of 85 years, 3 months, and 2 days.

She grew up in the Hampton area, and attended schools in the Hampton and Henderson areas.

On August 8, 1921, she was united in marriage to Wendell Bittinger at Aurora. He preceded her in death on March 24, 1968.

After their marriage they lived in Grand Island, and then moved to Hampton. She had run Cora’s Café in Aurora for several years, and later Harp’s Café in Hampton for several years.

Cora was a member of the Aurora United Methodist Church, and also belonged to a bridge club in Hampton for many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister Myrtle Amesberry, and one infant son.

Those who remain to cherish her memory are 2 sons, Franklin Bittinger of Fremont, and Robert Bittinger of Hampton; one daughter Doris Dallegge of Hampton; one sister Daisy Travis of Hampton, 3 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and 1 great great-grandchild.
