M. Jean Bjorkman

Funeral Services were held 2:30 P.M., Wednesday, November 22, 1995 at the Aurora United Methodist Church. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery.

OBITUARY: M. Jean Bjorkman

Jean Bjorkman, the daughter of Hugo and Letha (Friend) Person, was born November 28, 1924, near Polk, Nebraska, and died November 20, 1995, at Aurora, Nebraska, at the age of 70 years, 11 months, and 22 days.

She was raised in the Polk-Hordville area, where she attended school and graduated from Hordville High School in 1942. She was baptized in the Polk Baptist Church. She trained to be a teacher and taught school for 2 years.

She was united in marriage to Kenneth Bjorkman on May 31, 1945 at Hordville, Nebraska. They farmed in the Hordville area, and began farming in the Marquette area in 1955. They retired to Aurora in 1982.

She had been a member of the Marquette United Methodist Church and transferred her membership to the Aurora United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Gideon International Auxiliary. Jean devoted her life to her family and church activities and enjoyed sewing, reading, gardening and traveling.

She was preceded in death by her father, Hugo Person.

Those who remain to cherish her memory are her husband Ken of Aurora, her mother Letha Person of Central City, a daughter Betty Kieran and her husband John of Bellevue, NE; a son Stephen Bjorkman and his wife Linda of Lincoln, NE; a sister Marge Jensen of Grand Island, two brothers Wayne Person of Hordville and Kenneth Person of Cincinnati, Ohio, 3 grandsons Jeff and Eric Bjorkman of Lincoln and Johnny Kieran of Bellevue, and many nieces and nephews.
