Twila Bourland

Funeral Services were held 10:30 A.M., Saturday, July 18, 1998 at the Aurora First Christian Church. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery.

OBITUARY: Twila Bourland

Twila Maxine Bourland was the daughter of Dewitt DeBowley and Grace Armina Pirnie. She was born in Broken Bow, Nebraska on June 18, 1924 and passed away on July 15, 1998.

On May 14, 1943, she married William Rex Bourland at Broken Bow where they made their home. In 1944 Maxine gave birth to her first daughter, Dianna De. In 1948 Maxine gave birth to her second daughter, Pamela Jean.

In 1961 the family moved to Crete where her husband’s job promotion took them. Maxine became the dietary cook for the Crete Hospital for the next six years. Her husband’s next promotion took them to Aurora, where Maxine retired and enjoyed herself as a housewife.

She was a member of the First Christian Church in Aurora and was past president of the Christian Church Circle, and past president of the legion auxiliary. She belonged to the Aurora Women’s Club and she did volunteer work with the hospital auxiliary. She was also a golfer and on the “55 Senior Citizen Bowling League”. When her husband retired they wintered in Arizona.

Survivors include her two daughters, Dianna De Myers of Lafayette, Tennessee and Pamela Jean Ried of Lincoln; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband, Rex on July 3, 1997.
