Alan Brandenburg
Alan Brandenburg, age 52, of Aurora, died Friday, May 22, 2009 at Bryan/LGH East in Lilncoln. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, May 27th at the Assembly of God Church in Aurora. Rev. Jim Garfield will officiate. Interment will be in the Burke Cemetery near Central City, Nebraska at 1:30 P.M. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 P.M. Tuesday at the Assembly of God Church. Condolences may be e-mailed to the family through the mortuary website at www.higbymortuary.com OBITUARY: ALAN BRANDENBURG Alan Brandenburg, the son of Glen and Ruth (Ruge) Brandenburg, was born in Central City, Nebraska on April 23, 1957 and died in Lincoln, Nebraska on May 22, 2009, at the age of 52. Alan grew up in Central City and graduated from Central City High School in 1975. Following high school he worked at Bonnavilla and Top Flite for several years. Alan then went back to work at Bonnavilla where he worked until his death. Alan was united in marriage to Kathy Chadwick on October 8, 1977, in Central City at the Central City Methodist Church. Alan enjoyed hunting and fishing, bowling, and playing softball. He especially enjoyed spending time with his granddaughters. He loved to work in his yard and working on his home and truck. Alan was a friend to all and gave anyone a helping hand when they needed it. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Oleata Riblett, his mother and father-in-law, Opal and Stanley Chadwick and niece, Barbie Simms. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Kathy of Aurora; sons, Anthony Brandenburg of Aurora and Rick (Amy) Brandenburg of Marquette; daughter, Amber Brandenburg of Aurora; granddaughters, Haylee and Emily Brandenburg; brothers Ronald Hotchkiss and special friend Jamie of Lander, Wyoming and Dennis (Kathy) Brandenburg of Knights Landing, California; sisters, LaDonna (Ron) Powers of Grand Island and Vicki (Larry) McAhren of Grand Island; brothers-in-law Mike Burke of Clarks and Richard Riblett and numerous other family members and friends. |
