Richard Brandt

Richard Brandt, age 60, of Grand Island, passed away on Monday, May 28, 2012 at the Wedgewood Care Center.

A Memorial Service will be held 10:30 A.M., Friday, June 1st at the Third City Archery Range off of Schimmer Drive in Grand Island. OBITUARY: RICHARD BRANDT

Richard Leroy Brandt, the son of Ervin LeRoy and Laura Ethel (Reetz) Brandt, was born at Columbus, Nebraska on March 12, 1952 and passed away in Grand Island, Nebraska on May 28, 2012, at the age of 60.

Richard attended Zion Lutheran School and graduated from Hampton High School.

Richard was united in marriage to Evelyn Marie O’Brien in 1972. They had three children; Angela, Annette and Anthony. Richard retired in 2006 from New Holland in Grand Island after 34 years of service. He then went to work at Porter Construction as an construction apprentice in hopes of starting his own construction company.

Richard enjoyed archery and attending archery tournaments. He also liked woodworking and doing home improvement projects. Pam’s Pub & Grub was his favorite place to eat.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Those left to cherish his memory are his three children, Angela M. Brandt of Central City, Annette M. (Genaro) Vasquez of Central City and Anthony M. Brandt and Nicole of Grand Island; five granddaughters, Amanda Brandt, Alissa Vasquez, LaDonna Cortes, Vanessa Vasquez and Evelynn Brandt; two sisters, Elizabeth Keeney of Albany, Wyoming and Donna Bauers of Sioux Falls, South Dakota and one brother, James Brandt of Aurora.
