Irene Budnick
Irene Budnick, age 88, formerly of Hampton, died Thursday, August 16, 2007, at Hamilton Manor in Aurora. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Monday, August 20th at the Zion Lutheran Church north of Hampton. Rev. Loren Cooper will officiate. Interment will be in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 P.M. Sunday at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary in Aurora. Condolences may be e-mailed to the family through the mortuary website at www.higbymortuary.com. OBITUARY: IRENE BUDNICK Irene Francis Budnick, the daughter of Raymond and Helen (Moore) Grigsby, was born on the family farm near Aurora, Nebraska on February 12, 1919 and died in Aurora, Nebraska on August 16, 2007, at the age of 88. Irene grew up on the family farm and attended country school through the 8th grade. Irene was united in marriage to Raymond Budnick on October 4, 1943. They spent most of their married life on the farm and retired into Hampton in May of 1977. Raymond passed away in August 15, 1977. She was a member of the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church of rural Hampton. She enjoyed quilting and doing embroidery work, giving many of those tea towels away. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; four brothers, Perry, Don, Albert and Robert Grigsby, an infant brother and son-in-law, Kenneth W. Hahn. Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Don Budnick of Laramie, Wyoming; three daughters, Shirley (Phillip) Welding of Grand Island, Sharlis Hahn of Hampton and Geri (Greg) Rehrs of Kearney; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brother, Jerome ‘Bill’ Grigsby of Aurora and three sisters, Betty (Marvel) Land of Aurora, Elizabeth Critel of York and Bessie Brahmsteadt of York. |
