Jacqueline Budnick

Jacqueline Budnick, age 73, of Hampton, passed away Sunday, October 16, 2011, at Bryan/LGH East in Lincoln.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, October 19th at the Zion Lutheran Church north of Hampton. Rev. Loren Cooper will officiate. Interment will be in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 – 8 P.M. Tuesday at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary in Aurora. Condolences may be e-mailed to the family through the mortuary website at www.higbymortuary.com.

OBITUARY: JACQUELINE BUDNICK

Jacqueline Amanda Budnick, the daughter of Alfons and Amanda (Van Assche) Pieters was born at Hamme, Belgium on May 26, 1938 and passed away on October 16, 2011 in Lincoln, Nebraska at the age of 73.

Jackie grew up in Belgium. She was baptized at the local Catholic Church. While attending the World’s Fair at Brussels in 1958 she met Robert Budnick.

Jackie graduated from college in July of 1959 with a degree in foreign languages. Jackie was united in marriage to Robert Budnick on September 6, 1959 at Zion Lutheran Church. There were two sons born to this union, Philip and Tony. Jackie became an American citizen in 1963. On February 24, 1966 she was confirmed into the Lutheran Faith.

They lived on the family farm north of Hampton. Jackie worked as a teachers’ aide at Hampton Lutheran School.

Jackie was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League and the Hampton Homemakers extension club.

She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant brother.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Robert Budnick of Hampton; two sons, Philip Budnick of Hampton and Tony (Mary Ann) Budnick of Grand Island; granddaughter, Tara Budnick of Grand Island; sister Annie Pieters (Willy DeStobbeleir) of Belgium and nieces and nephews.
