Ena CaldwellFuneral Services were held 2:00 P.M., Monday, August 24, 1992 at the Aurora United Methodist Church. Interment was held in the Greenwood Cemetery in York, Nebraska. OBITUARY: Ena Caldwell Ena C. Caldwell, the daughter of John and Julia (Gilmore) Wullbrandt, was born at the Pleasantview District, east of McCool Junction, Nebraska, on March 28, 1897, and died at Aurora, Nebraska, on August 20, 1992, at the age of 95 years, 4 months, and 22 days. She grew up near McCool, and graduated from McCool High School in McCool Junction. On December 14, 1919, she was united in marriage to Isidore “Ike” Caldwell, at Akron, Colorado. He preceded her in death on October 8, 1961. They were engaged in the grocery business in Benedict, and Ft. Morgan, Colorado, for a number of years, and then returned to York. In 1956, they moved to Aurora. She maintained her home in Aurora until she entered the Hamilton Manor in 1980. Ena was a member of the E.U.B. Church, and later the Aurora Untied Methodist Church. Her church was a large part of her life, and she held offices in all organizations, taught classes in the church schools, and was involved in missionary work, where she served as president in World Service and Missionary Work, and served for two four year terms as an officer in the State Woman’s Society of World Service. She was also a member of the Eastern Star at Fr. Morgan, Colorado, and belonged to the Rebekah Lodge. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother Raymond Wullbrandt, and one sister Mabel Hauser. Those who remain to cherish her memory are her son, F.F. “Bud” Caldwell, and his wife Shirley of Aurora; and one brother Harold Wullbrandt of Kansas City, Missori. |
