Clara CampbellFuneral Services were held 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, November 12, 1985 at the Aurora United Methodist Church. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery. OBITUARY: Clara Campbell Clara May Campbell, the daughter of Charles and Regina (Lawell) Hill, was born at Trumbull, Nebraska, on October 4, 1900, and passed away at Aurora, Nebraska, on November 10, 1985, at the age of 85 years, 1 month and 6 days. Her early years were spent in the Trumbull area where she graduated from high school. She attended Kearney State Teachers College and taught school for 2 years. On May 25, 1921, she was united in marriage to Clarence Campbell at Trumbull. He preceded her in death on March 22, 1965. After marriage she lived in Clay County and then Hamilton County. In 1953 she moved to Aurora, and in 1959, to Colorado. In 1969 she moved to Lexington, and in 1973, she moved to Hastings, where she lived with her sister Mabel. On February 14, 1982, she entered Crossroads Court, where she was active in all their activities. Clara was a member of the Aurora United Methodist Church and belonged to the Dorcas Circle. She was also a charter member of the North Community Club, a member of the Aurora Hospital Auxiliary and the Aurora Community Center, and campaigned for the new building. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter, Letha Norby, and one son Keith Campbell; 2 grandchildren and one great-grandson. Three brothers, John, Walter, and Francis Hill; and one sister Mabel Kreutz. Those who remain to cherish her memory are two daughters, Rowena Ostrander of Aurora and Elaine Unterseher of Lexington; one sister Mary Hoagland of Hastings; 19 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and many other relatives and close friends. |
