Donald CampbellFuneral Services were held 2:00 P.M., Thursday, March 26, 1992 at the Giltner United Methodist Church. Interment was held in the Greenwood Cemetery in Giltner. OBITUARY: Donald Campbell Donald Earl Campbell, the son of Lloyd and Gladys (Murray) Campbell, was born at Giltner, Nebraska, on January 17, 1918, and died at Merced, California, on March 21, 1992, at the age of 74 years, 2 months, and 4 days. He grew up and received his education in the Giltner Public School System. Upon completion of his education he entered into marriage with Alva Watson of Doniphan, Nebraska. She preceded him in death. Mr. Campbell was employed as a Radio Service technician, in Lincoln, Hastings and Grand Island. He also presented outdoor motion pictures to small communities in the south central Nebraska area. He designed, and supervised construction, and was the first Chief Engineer of KRGI Radio, in Grand Island. Later, he became an Electronic Technician with the FAA in Hayward, California. A stroke terminated his employment and he has resided in Pleasanton, California. Donald was a past member of the Giltner United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his father and his wife. Those who remain to cherish his memory are his son Donald “Scott” Campbell, and his daughter, Kristi Martin, both of Merced, California; his mother Gladys Campbell, of Aurora; 2 brothers, Thomas “Murray” Campbell of El Paso, Texas and James Rodney Campbell of Fremont, California; 2 sisters, Dorothy “Glee” Volk of Torrington, Wyoming and Marian J. Barger of Raytown, Missouri; 2 granddaughters, Kera Lynn Hader and Sandra Lee Moore, and 2 step-grandchildren, Michele Cybulski and Bryan Martin. |
