Getrude Campbell

Funeral Services were held 10:00 A.M., Saturday, March 15, 1997 at the Aurora First Christian Church. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery.

OBITUARY: Gertrude Campbell

Gertrude Brandner Campbell, the daughter of Frederick and Anna (Perl) Brandner, was born at Harvard, Nebraska, on October 11, 1918, and died at Lincoln, Nebraska, on March 13, 1997, at the age of 78 years, 5 months, and 2 days.

She attended rural school north of Harvard, and graduated from Harvard High School in 1936. She then attended Kearney State Teacher’s College.

On August 18, 1940, she was united in marriage to Dale Campbell at her parent’s home near Harvard.

She taught school for several years,l and they lived and farmed in the Giltner, Hastings, and Aurora areas. She also worked as a sales clerk for Miller & Paine in Lincoln and Brachs of Hastings. In 1964, they moved to Aurora and she and Dale owned and operated the Gamble Store, until they retired in 1976.

Gertrude was a member of the Aurora First Christian Church, belonged to CWF, and was church secretary for 10 years. She was also involved in volunteer service, was a 4-H leader, and belonged to extension clubs. She and her husband loved to travel, and were members of NCHA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister Pearl Bieck.

Those who remain to cherish her memory are her husband, Dale of Aurora; their daughter Bonnie Campbell of Holdrege; nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
