Gladys CampbellFuneral Services were held 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, July 26, 1994 at the Giltner United Methodist Church. Interment was held in the Giltner Cemetery. OBITUARY: Gladys Campbell Gladys Viola Campbell, the daughter of Samuel and Doris (Knapp) Murray, was born at Redfield, Iowa, on March 7, 1897, and died at Aurora, Nebraska, on July 21, 1994, at the age of 97 years, 4 months, and 14 days. The family moved to Council Bluffs, Iowa, Aurora, and Giltner, where she attended West Boag School and Spanogle School, in the Giltner area. On October 26, 1916, she was united in marriage to Lloyd Campbell, at Rochester, Minnesota. He preceded her in death in August of 1966. They resided in Giltner, where she raised her family, and then moved to Hastings, until the death of her husband. She later moved to Longmont, Colorado, Torrington, Wyoming, Lee Summitt, Missouri, El Paso, Texas, Raytown, Missouri, Broken Bow, and in February of 1991, she entered the Hamilton Manor in Aurora. Gladys was a member of the Giltner United Methodist Church, and belonged to the Giltner Order of Eastern Star Lodge. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and infant son, a son Donald; a brother Troy Murray, and 2 sisters, Gertrude Wright and Fay Ward. Those who remain to cherish her memory are her sons, T. Murray Campbell of El Paso, Texas, James Rodney Campbell, of Davenport, Iowa; 2 daughters, Dorothy “Glee” Volk of Torrington, Wyoming and Marian Barger of Raytown, Missouri; a sister Gretta Williams of Broken Bow; 10 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren. |
