Funeral Services were held 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, February 19, 1992 at the East Chain Evangelical Free Church in East Chain, Minnesota. Interment was held in the East Chain Cemetery.

OBITUARY: Signe Carlson

Signe Mathilda Carlson, the daughter of Viktor and Mathilda (Asklof) Anderson, was born at Farmington, Minnesota, on January 9, 1906, and died at Aurora, Nebraska, on February 15, 1992, at the age of 86 years, 1 month, and 6 days.

She grew up at Ronneby, Minnesota, and graduated from Foley, Minnesota High School. She then attended 1 year Normal Training, and 2 years at Mankato State University, at Mankato, Minnesota.

On July 27, 1927, she was united in marriage to the Rev. Carl R. Carlson, at Ronneby, Minnesota. He preceded her in death on March 13, 1981. After their marriage they served churches at Wolverton, Minnesota, Wyanette, Minnesota, Rockford, Illinois, Gothenburg, Nebraska, Los Angeles, California, and then returned to the Fairmont, Minnesota area, where he served the East Chain Evangelical Free Church.

During their ministry, she was a Sunday School Teacher, and was Director of the Children’s Bible Hour Club. She was also a Special Education Teacher and Elementary School Teacher.

In 1980, they moved to Aurora, Nebraska, to be near their daughter, and in 1989, she entered the Hamilton Manor Care Home, where she has since resided.

She was a member of the Aurora Evangelical Free Church, and belonged to the Garden Clubs at Fairmont, Minnesota, and Aurora, Nebraska. Her hobbies were gardening and fishing.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 3 sisters, 3 brothers, and one grandson.

Those who remain to cherish her memory are her 2 sons, Dwight of Alden, Iowa, and LaRue of Tulsa, Oklahoma; one daughter June Gustafson of Aurora; one brother Joe Anderson of Anoka, Minnesota; 8 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren.
