OBITUARY: Verna Carnes

Verna Carnes, the daughter of Charles and Belle Bault, was born at Giltner, Nebraska, on September 21, 1909, and passed away at her home in Aurora, Nebraska, on August 13, 1986, at the age of 76 years, 10 months and 22 days.

She was raised in Giltner and attended grade school there. The family moved to Aurora where she attended high school. Her entire lifetime had been spent in Hamilton County.

On March 9, 1938, she was united in marriage to Everette Carnes, at Albion, Nebraska.

Verna worked as a nurses aid at the hospital for man years, and had also worked at the bakery and Nielsen Cleaners for many years. She had also helped take care of many elderly people in Aurora as a friend.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son Ron Winkler and one sister LaRee Burke.

Those who remain to cherish her memory are her twin sons, Terry Carnes of Lakewood, Colorado and Jerry Carnes of Houston, Texas; a nephew Dr. Mike Burke of Kearney; 5 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
