Freda CarterFuneral Services were held 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, October 27, 1987 at the Aurora United Methodist Church. Interment was held in the Bruning Public Cemetery. OBITUARY: Freda Carter Freda J. Carter, the daughter of Robert and Grace Casper Hofrichter, was born April 26, 1898 at Bellwood, Nebraska and passed away October 24, 1987 at Aurora, Nebraska at the age of 89 years, 5 months and 28 days. In 1903 her family moved to Bruning, where she grew up and attended school. On November 12, 1919 she was united in marriage to Roy A. Carter at Bruning. He preceded her in death on August 2, 1947. Freda lived in Bruning until moving to Aurora in 1967 to be close to family members. The last 3 years she had resided at Hamilton Manor. She was an active lifetime member of the United Methodist Church, and an honorary lifetime member of the United Methodist Women. While living in Bruning she was the pianist and organist for the church for over 50 years. After moving to Aurora, Freda was pianist for services and soloist at the local nursing homes. She was a devoted mother and a most important part of her grandchildren’s lives. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a daughter Maxine Kulba and two sisters and one brother. Those who remain to cherish her memory are 3 daughters, Lois Ough of Hampton, LaVonne Carter of Huntington Beach, California, and Sharon Bahe of Aurora; 1 brother, Roy Hofrichter of Macks Creek, Missouri; 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; other relatives and a host of friends. |
