Mary Catlett

Funeral Services were held 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, May 17, 1989 at Higby Mortuary. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery.

OBITUARY: Mary Catlett

Mary Agnes (Williams) Catlett, the daughter of Joseph and Hattie (Wilson) Peters, was born at Aurora, Nebraska, on December 1, 1907, and passed away at Papillion, Nebraska, on May 15, 1989, at the age of 81 years, 5 months, and 14 days.

She grew up and graduated from Aurora High School.

On January 12, 1928, she was united in marriage to Vern Williams, at Aurora. After their marriage they moved to Lincoln, then they farmed near Broken Bow, until 1942, when they came to Aurora. In 1943 they moved to Loup City, and returned to Aurora in 1948. In 1952, they moved to a farm near Broken Bow. On July 1, 1962, they retired and returned to Aurora. Vern preceded her in death on October 16, 1962. After his death Mary lived in Aurora except for one year in Fairfield, Iowa.

On November 6, 1970, she married George Catlett at Aurora. They lived in Aurora, and he died on May 15, 1972. She continued to live in Aurora and resided at the Crossroads Court until 1986, when she entered the Huntington Park Care Center in Papillion for the past 2 years.

Mary was a member of the Aurora Christian Church, and belonged to the VFW Auxiliary at Fairfield, Iowa, and the AARP in Aurora.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, brothers, Lyle, Virgil, Ralph and Ted Peters, and one step-son James Catlett.

Those who remain to cherish her memory are 2 sons, Dick Williams of Ralston and Deryl Williams of Omaha; 2 step-sons, Clifford Catlett of California, and Ted Catlett of Central City; one daughter, Dorothy Jean Holm of Phoenix, Arizona; 4 step-daughters, Dee Newman of Central City, Ethel Doremus of Benedict, Avis Fusby of Stromsburg, and Lavia Lyons of Central City. 3 brothers, Kenneth and Gale Peters of Ridge Manor, Florida and John Peters of Ft. Madison, Iowa. 2 sisters, Vada Holm of Hedrick, Iowa and Betty Headley of Fairfield, Iowa; one step-daughter-in-law, Marilyn Catlett of Broken Bow, 5 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
