Opal ChadwickFuneral Services were held 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, August 9, 1989 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Aurora. Interment was held in the Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Grand Island. OBITUARY: Opal Chadwick Opal Jane Chadwick, the daughter of Charles and Laura (Nunn) Fuller, was born at St. Paul, Nebraska, on June 10, 1925, and passed away suddenly, August 5, 1989, at Central City, Nebraska, at the age of 64 years, 1 month, and 25 days. She grew up and attended school at St. Paul, and on July 31, 1944, she was united in marriage to Stanley Chadwick, at Grand Island. After their marriage they lived on a farm near Shelton, and in 1949 they moved to St. Paul for one year, and in 1950 they moved to Central City. In 1969 they moved to Ord, and in 1980, they moved to Aurora where they have since resided. Opal was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Aurora, and belonged to St. Mary’s Altar Society. She was Senior Vice-President of the Ladies V.F.W. Auxiliary in Aurora, and belonged to the Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. She enjoyed camping, bingo, sewing and traveling. Opal was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Gloria Eddy, and one grandson. Those who remain to cherish her memory are her husband, Stanley, of Aurora; one son Jerry Chadwick of Aurora; 4 daughters, Linda Dittmer of Clarks, Sandy Timmons of Hordville, Laura Chadwick of Aurora, Colorado, and Kathy Brandenburg of Aurora; 3 sisters, Mary Wells of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Bertha Arends and Edna Webb, both of Cairo; 13 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren, and many other relatives and close friends. |
