Harold Chambers

Harold Chambers, age 84, of Phillips, died September 4, 2009 at the Veterans Home in Grand Island.

A Memorial Service will be held 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, September 8th at Pleasant View Bible Church in Aurora. Rev. Marlin Rasmussen will officiate. Inurnment will be in the Phillips Cemetery. OBITUARY: HAROLD CHAMBERS

Harold Leroy Chambers, the son of Faye H. and Bessie (Cantrell) Chambers, was born in Charleston, Nebraska on October 15, 1924 and died in Grand Island, Nebraska on September 4, 2009, at the age of 84.

Harold grew up in York. He graduated from Phillips High School in 1942. Harold served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and was honorably discharged in 1946.

Harold was united in marriage to Betty Lou Arnold on April 25, 1945 at the bride’s home. He worked for a wholesale lumber company in Grand Island for 35 years.

Harold was a member of Pleasant View Bible Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Lester Chambers and sister, Charlotte Dormer.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Betty Chambers of Phillips; daughter, Nancy Warren of Lincoln; three sons, Larry (Janet) Chambers of Diller, Roger Chambers of Aurora and Don Chambers of Clarkesville, TN; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and sister, Emma Gartman of Texas.
