Lucile ChaneyFuneral Services were held 2:00 P.M., Monday, January 11, 1988 at Higby Mortuary. Interment was held in the Giltner Cemetery. OBITUARY: Lucile Chaney Lucile Chaney, the daughter of Ed and Mary (Bierbower) McKibben, was born December 15, 1897, in Hamilton County, Nebraska, and passed away at Aurora, Nebraska, on January 7, 1988, at the age of 90 years and 22 days. The family lived in several locations in Nebraska during her childhood, and she graduated from Geneva High School. She taught school in the Giltner area before her marriage. On December 24, 1918, she was united in marriage to Walter Chaney at Grand Island. He preceded her in death in 1955. They farmed in the Giltner area, and in 1954 they moved into Giltner. In 1971 Lucile moved to the Crossroads Courts in Aurora, and for the past 5 years, has resided at the Hamilton Manor in Aurora. She was a member of the Giltner United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one daughter Mary Springer. Those who remain to cherish her memory are 5 sons, John, Richard of Mililani Town, Hawaii, Walter Daniel of Escandido, California, Raymond of Denver, Colorado, and Thomas of Sterling, Virginia. 4 daughters, Joyce Sheldon of Webster City, Iowa, Shirley Anders of Boise, Idaho, Barbara Lavalleur of Holdrege, and Lucile Rader of Trumbull. 3 sisters, Dorothy Renner of Long Beach, California, Hazel Cundall and Phyllis Lovelace both of California. 31 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. |
