Ervin ChristensenMemorial Services were held 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, September 24, 1997 at Higby Mortuary. OBITUARY: Ervin Christensen Francis Ervin Christensen, the son of Hans and Pearl (Vargason) Christensen, was born at Willow Springs, Missouri, on December 13, 1923, and died at his home in Aurora, Nebraska, on September 21, 1997. He grew up and received his education in Missouri and New Port, Nebraska. In 1945, he entered the U.S. Army and served his country during World War 2, until his discharge in 1948. On August 15, 1948, he was united in marriage to Ernestine Frieda Zanona, in Furth, Germany. They resided in O’Neill, Nebraska, and he was employed by the telephone company. On October 11, 1950, he was re-called into the Korean Conflict and served until 1951. In 1951, he moved to Aurora and was employed by the Aurora Co-op for 33 years, retiring in 1984. “Shorty” was a member of the Aurora American Legion for many years. He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers Raymond and Ernest. Those who remain to cherish his memory are his wife, Erna of Aurora; one son Walter and his wife Shirley of Omaha; 2 brothers John and Elmer, both of New Port; 2 sisters Esther Bartlett of Harvard and Emigene Bartlett of Grand Island; one grand daughter Barbara Hughes of Sunrise, Florida; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. |
