Doris Christenson

Doris Christenson, age 90, of Aurora, died Saturday, June 28, 2008, at the Hamilton Manor.

Funeral Services will be held 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, July 1st at the Aurora United Methodist Church. Rev. Cole Fowler will officiate. Interment will be in the Aurora Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 P.M. Monday at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary. The family will greet friends from 5 –7. OBITUARY: DORIS CHRISTENSON

Doris Lucille Christenson, the daughter of George and Inez (Hill) Vetter, was born in Hamilton County, Nebraska on February 19, 1918 and died in Aurora, Nebraska on June 28, 2008, at the age of 90.

She attended grade school at District #64, and graduated from Aurora High School in 1935.

On April 16, 1939, she was united in marriage to Roland Christenson. They farmed south of Marquette until 1991, when they moved into Aurora. They had celebrated 68 years of marriage. Roland passed away on March 21, 2008.

Doris was a member of the Aurora United Methodist Church where she was active in several church circles. She was involved in 4-H as a youth. She enjoyed gardening, fishing and crocheting. Doris especially enjoyed watching baseball games on television. She was very involved in the lives of her children and grandchildren and enjoyed attending all of their activities.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter-in-law, Donna Christenson; sister Gladys Luthy and one great-great grandchild.

Those left to cherish her memory are her four sons, Larry Christenson of Riverside, California, Gerald (Linda) Christenson of North Platte, Doyle (Kathy) Christenson of Marquette and Murry (Marylyn) Christenson of Grand Island; 11 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren; and brother Don Vetter of Marquette.
