Funeral Services were held 2:00 P.M., Friday, January 23, 1998 at Higby Mortuary. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery.

OBITUARY: Vernon Cline

Vernon Albert Cline, the son of William and Blanche (Chambers) Cline, was born in Hamilton County, Nebraska, on April 23, 1910, and died at Stromsburg, Nebraska, on January 20, 1998, at the age of 87 years, 8 months, and 27 days.

He grew up and received his education near Phillips, and graduated from Phillips High School.

On August 14, 1938, he was united in marriage to Neta Lantzer at Aurora. She preceded him in death on January 16, 1988.

They farmed in York and Box Butte Counties for many years, moving to Aurora in 1968. He worked at the Aurora Cemetery and the Aurora Schools before retiring.

Vern was a member of the Aurora United Methodist Church, the Aurora Lions Club, and spent any enjoyable hours volunteering at the Plainsman Museum in Aurora.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, a brother Earl, a sister Velma Omel, and a great granddaughter.

Those who remain to cherish his memory are his 2 sons, Robert (Vicki) and Gerald (Jackie) both of Central City; a daughter Donna (Ronald) Ellison of Gresham; one sister Nora (Gordon) Johnson of Lincoln; 8 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
