Edna Coleman

Funeral Services were held 2:00 P.M., Monday, April 25, 1983 at Higby Mortuary. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery.

OBITUARY: Mrs. Edna A. Coleman

Edna A. Coleman, the daughter of Manna and Sarah Lasley Ashford was born at Mayberry in Pawnee County, Nebraska on January 8, 1902. Her death occurred at Aurora, Nebraska, on April 22, 1983 at the age of 81 years, 3 months and 14 days.

She spent her childhood in the vicinity of her birth and received her education in the public schools in the vicinity of her birth.

In 1946 she moved to Washington D.C. to maker her home.

On March 29, 1958, she was united in marriage to Marion O. Coleman at Washington D.C. They resided there until 1980 when they moved to Aurora to make their home.

Mrs. Coleman was a Gold Star Mother and a member of the American Auxiliary in Washington D.C. and had spent more than 16 thousand hours in volunteer work for the Auxiliary.

The Colemans were members of the Baptist Faith while residing in Washington, but since residing here had affiliated with the Evangelical Covenant Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents, several brothers and sisters, one son Hobart who died in the service of his country in World War II and one grandson, Richard Eaker.

Those who remain to cherish her memory are her husband, Marion; one daughter Mrs. Dawn Eaker of Los Altos, California; two sons, Edward Coleman of Washington D.C. and The Rev. William Coleman of Aurora; seven grandchildren, Debra and Janet Eaker, Michael and John Coleman, Mary, Jim and June Coleman and other relatives and many close friends.
