Lynn CongerFuneral Services were held 10:30 A.M., Friday, November 28, 1997 at the Aurora First Christian Church. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery. OBITUARY: Lynn Conger Lynn Atwood Conter, the son of Arthur and Lucy (Fowler) Conger, was born at Loup City, Nebraska, on December 26, 1913, and died at Aurora, Nebraska, on November 24, 1997, at the age of 83 years, 10 months, and 28 days. He grew up in the Murphy Community, attended District #4 School, and graduated from Aurora High School in 1930. The family moved northwest of Aurora, where he lived until his marriage. On October 25, 1936, he was united in marriage to Opal Funkhouser, at Aurora. He farmed with his father and brother until he began working at the Aurora Co-op service station. During World War Two he worked at the Grand Island Ordinance Plant until the end of the war. He began working for At Grosshans at the International Harvester Store in Aurora, and was parts manager at Grosshans Sales & Service for over 30 years. Lynn was an active member of the Aurora First Christian Church, was a member of the choir, board chairman, and Sunday School Superintendent. He was also a member of the Aurora Lions Club, had served as president of the Aurora Chamber of Commerce, and had served on the Aurora School Board. He was an avid Nebraska football fan. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother Ray; and a great granddaughter Kelsey Lynn Belitz. Those who remain to cherish his memory are his wife Opal of Aurora; one son Jack and his wife Donna of Overland Park, Kansas; three daughters, Janet Belitz and her husband Ron of Central City, Donna Fowler and Sharon Ingram and her husband Ron all of Omaha; 9 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren. |
