James Crowder

Funeral Services were held 9:30 A.M., Friday, March 11, 1988 at the Giltner United Methodist Church. Interment was held in the Fort McPherson National Cemetery near Maxwell, Nebraska.

OBITUARY: James Crowder

James Ellis Crowder, the son of Curtis and Tennie (Burke) Crowder, was born at Moore, Oklahoma, on August 13, 1917, and passed away at Grand Island, Nebraska, on March 9, 1988, at the age of 70 years, 6 months, and 26 days.

He was raised in Moore, Oklahoma, where he attended school.

He served his country during World War II in the U.S. Air Force from 1943 to 1946.

Jim was a pipeline welder, and he worked in Saudi Arabia on the first two major oil field developments. He was a former resident of Kimball, Nebraska where he was proprietor of Crowder Welding Service.

On June 18, 1952, he was united in marriage to Jenevieve Poole, at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. For the past 16 years they have resided at Giltner, Nebraska, where he was engaged in farming.

His parents had preceded him in death.

Those who remain to cherish his memory are his wife Jenevieve; 3 sons, Clifton Ellis Crowder of London, England, Ormond Lewis Crosder of Moraga, California, and Dr. Jay D. Crowder of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; one daughter Cynthia Fox of Nebraska City; 3 brothers, Raymon of Norman, Oklahoma, Harvey of Nevada City, California, and Kenneth of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; one sister Opal Young of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and 8 grandchildren.
