Alta Crumb

Funeral Services were held 1:30 P.M., Friday, April 15, 1994 at the First Baptist Church in Holdrege, Nebraska. Interment was held in the Bainbridge Baptist Cemetery in Huntley, Nebraska.

OBITUARY: Alta Crumb

Alta Ethel Crumb, the daughter of John and Mary (Arehart) Crumb, was born near David City in Butler County, Nebraska, on October 29, 1897, and passed away at Aurora, Nebraska, on April 10, 1994, at the age of 96 years, 5 months, and 11 days.

In 1908 she and her parents moved to Harlan County, Nebraska.

Alta was converted at the age of 14 years and then united with the Bainbridge Baptist Church. She served as organist in her church for a number of years. She also worked as Sunday School Superintendent and teacher and held other offices in her Sunday School.

After attending Doane College and Kearney Teachers College, Alta taught school in country schools in Harlan and Phelps counties and also taught private music lessons.

In 1946, she moved to Holdrege, Nebraska, where she resided until January of 1968. She then moved to the Good Samaritan Village, Hastings, Nebraska. On March 10, 1988, she moved to the Hamilton Manor in Aurora, Nebraska, where she lived until the time of her death.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her twin sister, Ada, a sister Alma Jones, and a brother Ernest.

She leaves to mourn her passing, nieces and nephews; Melvin and Russel Jones of Lincoln, Dalton Jones of San Antonio, Texas, Marvin Jones of Hastings, Blaine Jones of McCook, Alice Meyer of Hastings, Winifred McCord of Oquawka, Illinois, and other relatives.
