Lucile Dangler

Lucile Dangler, age 94, of Aurora, formerly of Giltner, died Saturday, January 9, 2010 at Hamilton Manor in Aurora.

Funeral Services will be held 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, January 13th at the Giltner United Methodist Church. Dr. F. Cole Fowler will officiate. Interment will be in the Case Cemetery near Giltner. Visitation will be from 4 – 8 P.M. Tuesday at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary. Condolences may be e-mailed to the family through the mortuary website at www.higbymortuary.com.

OBITUARY: LUCILE DANGLER

Lucile Christine Dangler, the daughter of Albert and Anna Mathilda (Nodland) Ruebsamen, was born near Harvard, Nebraska on March 25, 1915 and died in Aurora, Nebraska on January 9, 2010, at the age of 94.

Lucile graduated from Harvard High School in 1932. Following her graduation she attended Nebraska Normal School in Lincoln. Lucile then taught country schools in Clay and Hamilton County for six years.

Lucile was united in marriage to Kenneth Dangler on October 23, 1938 at the home of her parents. Two sons and two daughters were born to bless their home. They farmed in rural Giltner from 1938 until their retirement. Kenneth passed away on June 20, 1983. Lucile continued to reside on the farm until 2006. She moved to Plattsmouth in 2006 to be near her daughter Mary. In 2007 she moved to the Hamilton Manor.

She was a member of the Giltner United Methodist Church where she was active with the United Methodist Women. Lucile was also a member of the Scoville Progessive Extension Club where she was a founding member in Hamilton County. She enjoyed gardening, home canning and sewing.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter-in-law, Judy (Story) Dangler and son-in-law, Chet Pezley.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Robert D. Dangler of Hastings and Willard K. (Shirley) Dangler of Yankton, South Dakota; daughters, Mary A. (Gary) Linder of Plattsmouth and Ruth M. Pezley of Juniata; grandchildren, Jacki Rains, Robin Patch, Wade Dangler, Karen Frederick, Daniel Linder, Katherine Keim, Amanda Hackwith, Michelle Dedrick and Christie Luedtke; 17 great-grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy M. Chaney of Giltner and Dorlene M. Hunt of Kenesaw and other family members and friends.
