Funeral Services were held 2:00 P.M., Saturday, March 2, 1991 at Higby Mortuary. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery.

OBITUARY: Gilbert Danhauer

Gilbert “Gib” John Danhauer, the son of Delbert E. and Ellen (Lindblom) Danhauer, was born near Marquette, Nebraska, on August 15, 1909, and passed away at Grand Island, Nebraska, on February 28, 1991, at the age of 81 years, 6 months, and 13 days.

He grew up and attended Marquette Schools. From 1938 to 1942 he resided in Minnesota. From April 25, 1942, until October 6, 1945, he served in the United States Army, during World War II. After his discharge he returned to Aurora. He entered the Nebraska Veterans Home in Grand Island on April 10, 1981.

On June 28, 1949, he was united in marriage to Minnie Epp at Las Vegas, Nevada. She preceded him in death on March 2, 1953.

“Gib” was a member of the Marquette United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one brother, Delbert; and 3 sisters, Ida Larsen, Kate Larsen, and Hazel Ashelford.

He is survived by 2 sons, LaMoyne of Aurora and Danny Lee of York; 2 brothers, Ellsworth and Bernard, both of Aurora, and one sister, Margaret Berck of Marquette, and 3 grandchildren.
