Kenneth Danhauer

Kenneth Danhauer, age 69, of Marquette, died Sunday, September 1, 2003, at Bryan/LGH East Hospital in Lincoln.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Thursday, September 4 at the United Methodist Church in Aurora. Rev. Brian Kottas will officiate. Interment will be in the Aurora Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 P.M. Wednesday with family receiving friends from 7 to 9 at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary. OBITUARY: KENNETH DANHAUER

Kenneth Danhauer, the son of Delbert and Leona (Larsen) Danhauer, was born in Aurora, Nebraska on January 4, 1934 and died in Lincoln, Nebraska on September 1, 2003, at the age of 69.

He grew up in Hamilton County and received his education at Marquette where he graduated from Marquette High School in 1951. He attended Hastings College. In November 1954, Ken was inducted into the Army and he completed Basic Combat Training in January 1955. He was awarded a certificate from Quartermaster School for completing Supply Records Course in March 1955, and a medal of Sharp Shooter M-1 Rifle. During his service, he was stationed in France. In 1956, he returned home to Marquette where he farmed and raised cattle.

Kenneth was united in marriage to Sandie Flohr on December 19, 1957 at United Methodist Church in Marquette.

He was later blessed with a second marriage to Marilyn A. Pritchett (Hauser) on December 26, 1978, in Central City, after which they continued to farm and raise cattle in Marquette.

Kenneth was a member of the United Methodist Church of Marquette, and he served on the Marquette School Board for more than 20 years.

Kenneth loved farming, fishing, spending time with his family, and he especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Delbert, and a brother-in-law, Gerald Hansen.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Marilyn of Marquette; mother, Leona Danhauer of Aurora; four sons: Dave Danhauer of Omaha, Mike and Dianne Danhauer of Aurora, Jim Danhauer of Grand Island, Todd Danhauer of Marquette; three daughters: Julie and Greg Ellenwood of Hastings, Lisa and Mark Vanosdall of Grand Island, and Kelli and Tony Bober of Kearney.

Other survivors include eleven grandchildren, a sister Sharon Hansen, and one brother, Donald and Arlene Danhauer, a special cousin, LaMoyne and Paula Danhauer, and his former wife, Sandie.
