Lyle Davies

Lyle Davies, age 87, of Aurora died Tuesday, August 1, 2000, at Memorial Long Term in Aurora.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Friday at the Presbyterian United Church of Christ Church in Aurora. Rev. Jay Mitchell will officiate. Interment will be in Aurora Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 P.M., Thursday at Higby Mortuary.

OBITUARY: LYLE DAVIES

Lyle C. Davies, the son of James and Charlotte (Beins) Davies, was born in Aurora, Nebraska on October 13, 1912 and died in Aurora, Nebraska on August 1, 2000, at the age of 87 years, 9 month and 18 days.

He grew up in Aurora and graduated from Aurora High School in 1931. After graduating he farmed with his father. He served in World War II in the Army Air Corps in the China, Burma, India Theater for 2 years.

Lyle was united in marriage to Nellie Silvernail on December 1, 1945. They moved to the family farm south of Aurora until they retired and moved into town in May 1980.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Fae Hartman and Lois Huff.

Survivors include his wife, Nellie; two daughters, Charlotte (Ralph) Smith of London, Kentucky and Judy (Terry) Wendt of Omaha; 3 grandchildren, Chris (Wendy) Wendt of Omaha and Suzie Wendt of Omaha and Brandy (Mark) Mayfield of Cincinnati, Ohio; one sister, Ruth (Irvin) Lewis of Sierra Madre, California and many nieces and nephews.
